The Layers Panel is an area with similar capabilities to other design programs that allows for adjusting a Slide's Layers.

Below is a highlight of the features offered within the Layers Panel

Layers Panel features highlighted for descriptions below

Items Highlighted on Layers Panel above:

Deck

The Deck Layer is the most top layer that is editable. This allows for Components to be placed throughout the entire Presentation or Master Deck.

Chapter

This is the Chapter Specific Layer, each Chapter will have its own layer for customization. This allows for 1 chapter to have a unique look and feel via the Layout Manager of the entire Presentation.

Slide

The slide is the Specific Layer being edited. The slide is meant for the specific unique content for that slide. This area also exists on the Main menu (Root Slide). It is a one-off area custom to that Slide ID

Chapter Background

The Chapter Background follows suit with the Chapter, it is an area for background Components specific to that Chapter. Using this can give a custom background feel for a Chapter compared to the rest of the Presentation Chapters.

Deck Background

Using the Deck Background allows for Components to display on the very bottom layer of the Presentation or Master Deck. Simple use cases for this would be a unique Image or Rectangle component per presentation.

Example of How to use Layers to modify a Slide

As an example, we'll discuss going through moving layers above while adding Components to fit the general look and feel that is desired for the Slide.

First, open the Layers Panel

Make edits to the slide, for this example, the image will now take up the full background under the Menu.

Doing this hides the text. In the Layers Panel notice the layering for the Slide, the Image Component is above the Text. When hovering on the Text Layer above the image.

The Text is now above the Image but is a bit too hidden due to the color of the text and Image. From here we can switch to Edit Mode and change the text color or we can add a rectangle.

We'll opt to add a rectangle gradient to keep the text color the same. Notice we use Layers to put the Rectangle in between the Text and Image Components.

After that change, save the slide now has a completely new layout utilizing the Layers Panel.
