NOTE: This documentation assumes you have Admin privileges to your organization’s Google Analytics instance and have already created a unique Property for DIGIDECK presentation slide views within your Google Analytics instance.

Adding the Google Analytics Component

Step 1. Navigate to Layout Mode within the Root Slide in your Master Deck or Presentation. This is also known as the Main Menu Slide.

Step 2: Access the Component Store on the top left by clicking the "+" button. From there, search for and add the Google Analytics Component to your slide.

Step 3: The component will default land on the top left corner of your screen; it will display blank on the slide and not show in presentation mode. Once added, click on the component's Settings to enter your Google Analytics Measurement ID.

Step 4: To find that G-XXXXXXXXXX value, navigate within your Google Analytics instance to the Admin Settings → Under the Property you wish to connect to, select Data Streams → Create a Data Stream if one doesn’t already exist for your DIGIDECK Master Deck, and enter your Master Deck URL for the Stream URL (ex. https://{{your Unique Deck Domain}}.v5.platform.sportsdigita.com/). Within that Data Stream, you are required to turn Enhanced Measurement to Disabled. The component drives the definition of a page view within the DIGIDECK platform as it serves as a single-page application (SPA); Google’s native enhanced measurement feature may double-count or not accurately account for pages views if enabled.

Step 5: Copy the Measurement ID from that data stream into the Google Analytics Component settings. Enable or disable whether you wish to collect page views in Google Analytics for when your users are in Edit Mode, as well as enable or disable whether you wish to collect page views from authenticated users (the internal group of DIGIDECK users at your organization). For most use cases, DIGIDECK customers prefer that these settings are both disabled as to only collect page views from external viewers of presentations.

Step 6: Click Save on the Component. The component will now collect page views for all slides in that Master Deck and subsequent presentations created from the Master Deck.
