The root slide is the main landing page for your presentations. It serves as the Main Menu, or Home page, and is the first slide users will view when they access a presentation. Additionally, when users navigate through the presentation and click the Home button, they will be brought back to the root slide.
TIP:
When editing a presentation, you can find the root slide by clicking the "Home" button while on the "Edit" tab. You'll know you're on the root slide if you see the words "Main Menu" in the upper left corner of the DIGIDECK screen.
When on the root slide, you'll see the words Main Menu in the upper left bar
Root Slide Templates
The root slide has its own set of templates, which differ from the regular slide templates. You can have multiple root slide templates, allowing for customization based on your presentation needs and use cases.
For example, our team's DIGIDECK uses a root slide template for general presentations that shows the Presentation Title and the Main Menu, and also has a different root slide template when creating our Digital Onboarding Guide presentation for new Onboarding customers.
You can view your root slide template list from your Master Deck's Template Library.

Creating and Updating Root Slide Templates
FAQ:
I'm not seeing the option to Create or Update a Root Slide Template.
You must have Admin permissions to use this feature. Please contact your DIGIDECK Administrator if you need a new template added or an existing template updated.
New Templates: If you want to create a new root slide template, you would start by updating the root slide in the Master Deck or within a presentation, and then selecting the option to save it as a new root slide template.
Updating Existing Templates: Similar to creating new templates, any updates to existing root slide templates can be made within the Master Deck, or from within a presentation, and then selecting the option to update a root slide template.
TIP:
We recommend creating new root slide templates, or updating root slide templates from within a presentation, rather than directly within the Master Deck. This ensures your users can continue creating new presentations from the Master Deck while you create or update your root slide templates.
If you want to update the default root slide in your Master Deck with a new template, you can apply the new template once you've saved it.
Steps to Create or Update Root Slide Templates
Create or Update in a Presentation: Create a presentations where you can make your changes uninterrupted. You need to select at least 1 slide from your Master Deck to create a presentation. This helps prevent any disruption to the creation of new presentations from the master deck.
Open your presentation: Open the presentation you just created and navigate to the main landing page of the presentation, where you can see the main menu. This is your root slide.
Make your Changes: Make your updates to the root slide just as you would to any other presentation slide and Save your changes.
Test Your Changes: Take the time to review and test your changes to ensure they meet your expectations and function correctly.
Make it a Template Once satisfied, save the updated slide as a new template or overwrite an existing template. While on your updated root slide, from the "Presentation" menu, select one of the following:
Create Template from Root Slide: This will create a new template in your Root Slide Templates section of your Template Library
Update Template from Root Slide: This will update the root slide template your root slide is currently using
