Legacy presentations are presentations that were created before your Master Deck was converted from Version 1 components to Version 2 (the Layout Manager update, using the Styling and Settings Panel). Presentations created before that conversion are still using the older component version and are considered Legacy; presentations created afterward, using the Create Presentation button from the Master Deck Library, use the current components and are not.
Common Questions
How Can I Tell If a Presentation Is Legacy?
Legacy presentations show a Legacy icon next to the presentation name in your presentation list.
Note: This icon is also used to indicate an expired presentation, so it isn't unique to Legacy presentations. When a presentation that includes an expiration date and that date has passed, it will expire. Once expired, the presentation's public visibility is disabled, and you'll also see a crossed-out eye icon next to it. If you see both icons together, the presentation is likely expired rather than Legacy. See Presentation Expiration Date for more information.

Why Can I Only Add a Blank Slide to a Legacy Presentation?
Because a Legacy presentation is still built on the older component version, it can't use the newer components. This means new slides in a Legacy presentation can only be created using the Blank Slide template; no other slide layout is available.
Why Can't I Add Slides from the Master Deck or Another Presentation into a Legacy Presentation?
Same reason. The Master Deck Library and other presentations now use the current component version, and that version isn't compatible with a Legacy presentation, so those slides can't be added in.
You will only be able to create new slides using the '+Add Blank Slide' option, as it won't contain any new components and will only let you add components from the version of components the presentation is limited to.
Note: You will NOT see the '+Add' dropdown that allows you to add slides from other presentations.
If I Duplicate a Legacy Presentation, Will the Duplicate Be Legacy Too?
Yes. Duplicating doesn't upgrade the components; a duplicate of a Legacy presentation is built from the same components as the original, so it will also be Legacy.
Will Global Updates from the Master Deck Apply to a Legacy Presentation?
No. The Master Deck Link is disabled for Legacy presentations, so global updates made in the Master Deck won't reach their slides.
Note: It is still possible to manually edit Legacy presentations.
Can I Still View, Edit, and Share a Legacy Presentation?
Yes. None of this affects viewing or sharing; Legacy presentations can still be viewed, edited, and shared normally, and existing share links aren't affected.
Can I Add Slides from a Legacy Presentation into a New, Non-Legacy Presentation?
Yes, using Add Slides From Presentation. Since this brings older components into a newer presentation, the added slides may need a few small styling adjustments afterward; Legacy components relied on CSS from the Master Style rather than the settings available in the current Styling and Settings Panel.
How Do I Get a Presentation Off Legacy Status?
Build a new presentation from the Master Deck Library, using the Create Presentation button, then add the slides you need, either from the Master Deck or by pulling them in from the Legacy presentation. For slides you'll want to reuse going forward, it's worth adding them to the Master Deck so they stay available with current components.
Note: Unfortunately, it is not possible to update or convert a legacy presentation to a Non-Legacy (normal) presentation.
